Originating from the camellia sinensis plant, Black tea is a fully-fermented type of tea. Its appearance, aroma, taste and flavour differs from origin to origin, elevation to elevation, deriving uniqueness of its own. These are mainly grown in India, Sri Lanka, Kenya and China.

Black tea are segregated into two segments - Orthodox and C.T.C (Cut tear curl), based on their respective manufacturing processes. Orthodox teas produce a flavoured brew with thick body and colour. Whilst C.T.C teas are more pungent and brew faster than orthodox teas.

In the Indian subcontinent, the best white teas are predominantly produced in Darjeeling, the Nilgiris and Nepal. Derived from the camellia sinensis plant, White tea unlike Black, Green or Oolong tea has no exact manufacturing process. Whilst China considers the tender leaves plucked and manufactured as White tea, Sri Lanka considers White tea as Silver tips which is produced using only tea buds.

High-altitude Darjeeling grown green teas have a special astringent flavour to them, whereas Nilgiri green teas grown in South India have distinct vegetal notes with stronger taste. The refreshing Green tea is an unfermented tea originated from the camellia sinensis plant. It is mainly produced in China, India and Sri Lanka. Green tea is considered high in antioxidants due to its manufacturing process.

Darjeeling oolongs, young, and bright, and very promising – represent a new generation of Indian tea. Oolong tea is the semi-fermented tea mainly produced in China and Taiwan comes from the same camellia sinensis plant. The partial oxidation is responsible for its color and characteristics taste.
